Welcome to Huamachuco Peru

Huamachuco is a city of about 50,000 people located in the Northern Sierra of Peru at an altitude of 3200 meters above sea level. It is the capital of the Province of Sanchez Carrion in the Department of La Libertad.

The purpose of this website is to promote tourism in Huamachuco and the surrounding area. This city is a little known gem of Peru with an abundance of activities and attractions to offer tourists. The calm, tranquil atmosphere provides a pleasant change of pace from the hectic environment of some of Peru’s better-known attractions.
